Current solutions fragment how people both find and share local activities. sgoingon consolidates events, hangouts, and PSAs in one community-curated feed, without noise, account requirements, or posting pressure - broader than your neighborhood, and narrower than existing social media - making it a reliable one-stop shop to see and add to sgoingon.

Everyone on sgoingon is already looking for nearby things to do, so your post lands in front of a ready-to-act local crowd rather than random scrollers from far away. For individuals this means your game night, hike, or meetup quickly finds people who truly want to join, no account needed, and you can simply communicate off-platform to take it further. For businesses it is a simple way to invite locals, prove your community focus, and turn casual visitors into lasting customers.

The lack of account creation means that anyone can see your event once it has been approved. Anyone includes good and bad actors. General tips to maximize safety probability include:

• Do NOT share your personal home address anywhere in the event (we’ll remove it before posting anyway)
• Do NOT create events/hangouts that are just you + invitee (e.g., event/activity requests that are non-group activities won’t be approved)
• Only use a public place as the location for your activity/hangout
• This is NOT a dating service in any way whatsoever; DON’T use it like one
• Communicate with interested participants using social media channels like Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter or institutional email addresses (like @cornell.edu or @rentec.com) BEFORE meeting them
